How Can I Know That I Can Trust the Bible?
To test what you believe to be true, here are three fundamental questions. The first question you need to ask is: Are there any contradictions in what I believe? You see, for a statement or belief system to be logically consistent it must not contradict itself but correspond and cohere to the facts of reality.
The second question is what evidence do I have to support my claims? An honest intellectual pursuit of truth is to see how your particular belief stacks up to historical, philosophical and rational inquiry. If what you believe is true, then it will be substantiated with evidence to back up its truth claims.
The third question to ask yourself is, how does my particular belief line up with life itself?
